Privacy Policy
In short: we keep your written answers and the feedback on them so you can see your progress. Voice recordings stay on your phone. We never sell or share your personal information for advertising. You can delete everything at any time in the app: Me → Delete all my data.
1. What we collect
- Your answers. The text of each answer you send for feedback (typed, or the transcript of what you said), your previous answer when you try again, the question, and the feedback we return.
- Voice and camera. Audio is turned into text on your device. We do not receive or store your voice recordings — only the resulting text, and only when you ask for feedback. The optional camera self-view during a mock interview is shown on your phone only; we never record or receive video.
- Resume — only if you add one. If you add your resume (pasted, typed or read from a PDF or text file you choose), it is kept on your phone. When you turn on “Use my resume for questions”, its text (up to 3,000 characters) is sent with that request so the questions and feedback can refer to your experience. A file you upload is read once to get its text and is not kept on our servers.
- Account. A Firebase sign-in ID. If you sign in with Apple, Google or email, also your email address, name and profile picture as provided by that sign-in, the sign-in method and sign-in times. If you have not signed in, the ID is random and not linked to your name or email.
- Purchases. Whether you have a subscription, its plan, start and end dates, renewal status and store transaction ID, as reported by Apple through RevenueCat. We never see your card or bank details.
- Usage. How many feedback checks you used each day, and which market (United States) your account uses. Technical logs of each AI request (service and model used, size, response time and any error) for cost and reliability.
- Analytics. Product events (for example, “feedback viewed”) linked to your account ID through PostHog. We do not send your email, answers, transcripts or feedback text to analytics.
- Notifications. A device push token and, if you turn on the daily question, the time and time zone you chose for it.
2. Why we use it
- To give you feedback on your answers and show how a new answer compares with your last one.
- To keep your account, your practice history and what you have paid for.
- To apply free-tier limits, prevent abuse and keep the service running.
- To understand which features help, using analytics that do not include your answers.
We do not sell your personal information, share it for cross-context behavioral advertising, or use it for advertising.
3. Who processes it for us
| Service | What it does | Data involved |
|---|---|---|
| Google Firebase | Sign-in and notifications | Account ID, sign-in details, push token |
| Anthropic, OpenAI, Google Gemini | Writes the questions and the feedback on your answer | The question, your answer, your previous answer and your resume text when you use it |
| RevenueCat, Apple | Purchases and subscriptions | Account ID, purchase status |
| PostHog | Product analytics | Account ID and app events (no answer text) |
| Amazon Web Services (AWS) | Hosting and database | Everything stored on our servers |
These providers may store or process data in the United States and other countries. We use them only to run the app, and they handle the data under their own terms and security measures.
4. How long we keep it
We keep your information while your account exists. When you delete your account in the app (Me → Delete all my data), we delete your answers, feedback, practice history, usage counts, purchase records held on our servers and your account. Technical AI request logs are kept without any link to you. Analytics events already sent stay under a random ID that is no longer linked to any account. Apple and RevenueCat keep their own purchase records under their policies.
5. Your choices and rights
You can ask to access the personal information we hold about you, ask us to correct it, or ask us to delete it. You can delete everything yourself in the app, or email [email protected]. We will reply within 30 days.
6. Your California privacy rights
If you live in California, the California Consumer Privacy Act (as amended by the CPRA) gives you the right to know what personal information we collect, use and disclose (described above), to request a copy of it, to request that we correct or delete it, and to opt out of its sale or sharing. We do not sell or share personal information as those terms are defined in the CCPA, and we do not use sensitive personal information to infer characteristics about you. We will not discriminate against you for exercising these rights. To make a request, email [email protected] from the address linked to your account (or tell us your account ID); we may need to verify your request before acting on it. An authorized agent may make a request for you with your written permission.
7. Children
The app is meant for job seekers. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child has given us information, email us and we will delete it.
8. Security
Data is sent over encrypted connections (HTTPS) and access to our servers is restricted. No system is perfectly secure, so please do not include sensitive details you do not need in your answers.
9. Changes
If we change this policy we will update the date above and, for important changes, tell you in the app.
